French Polish

Louis XIII French Polish is specially designed to achieve the most prestigious wood finish: French polishing. Developed from shellac spirits and purified shellac, this highly pure varnish offers a flexible, brilliant, and perfectly transparent finish without altering the color of the wood. It is ideal for flat surfaces and particularly recommended for marquetry, where it enhances the different wood species without masking them. Thanks to its flexibility, it is also perfectly suited for musical instruments, notably as a guitar varnish.

This is the finest of cabinetmaking finishes; it enlivens the richness of the tones and the grain of the wood. Marquetry composed of several species will look stunning. Its transparent, very pure, and non-gaudy sheen will bring finesse and refinement to your interior.

Purified shellac

Use the Louis XIII Polishing Pad for application.

Dilute the first coat with Louis XIII Fine Varnish Alcohol for better adhesion.

Apply using regular circular motions, in thin, successive coats, until the desired shine is achieved.

Allow to dry between each application if necessary.

Apply between 18-20°C. While layers are drying, keep the pad in an airtight jar. Always wait for the varnish to dry before applying a new coat or touching up.
