Louis XIII Wax Remover is a traditional formula, specially crafted with poppy seed oil, to deeply clean furniture and woodwork without damaging the wood or altering its color. It effectively dissolves old layers of wax and removes water stains, alcohol marks, and ingrained dirt, while respecting the natural appearance of the wood and preserving its original patina. Its water-free formula ensures it does not darken wood, even the most delicate varieties. Enriched with an insecticide, it also provides preventive protection against worms, wood-boring beetles, and other wood-destroying insects.

The LOUIS XIII WAX REMOVER, thanks to its special linseed oil-based formula, restores wood to its original natural appearance while preserving its patina. It cleans deeply by removing old layers of wax as well as grime caused by deposits of dust, smoke, etc.
It removes several layers of wax at once and also eliminates water, alcohol, and other stains. It does not darken the wood and is safe for tortoiseshell, horn, ivory, or metal inlaid in wood.

Apply the Wax Remover using:

Louis XIII Steel Wool (for gentle stripping)

Louis XIII Cotton Wool

A brush for moldings and hard-to-reach areas

Work in small sections, rubbing until the old wax and stains are dissolved.

Wipe off residue with a clean cloth.

Allow to dry before applying any new finish (waxing, varnishing, etc.)

If your wood is dirty or clogged, we recommend dusting it first. To obtain a patina of incomparable warmth, apply AVEL LOUIS XIII TINTING PATINA WAX (Ref. 3044) as a finish. Then, maintain with LOUIS XIII LUXURY WAX (Ref. 3004). Protect trimmings (fabric, leather).
